To protect oil deposits and the climate, E10 fuel has been introduced to the market in the EU. The term E10 is an abbreviation: "E" stands for ethanol alcohol, which is mixed with gasoline. The number "10" determines the permissible share of ethanol - up to 10%. Traditional gasoline - with a maximum ethanol content of 5% - remains available. For the sake of distinction, E10 is described on filler guns or fuel dispensers as "NormalE10", "SuperE10" or "SuperPlusE10".

E10 fuel can be used for all STIHL chainsaws and other combustion equipment, including garden equipment with Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki and Kohler engines. It may be necessary to adjust the carburetor to compensate for the changed fuel composition. For this purpose, we recommend visiting one of the Authorized STIHL Dealers.

STIHL recommends storing the mixture with E10 for no longer than 30 days to minimize the degree of fuel separation. In this case, stratification means: moisture contained in the air binding the ethanol and depositing on the bottom of the canister. This may ultimately lead to problems with engine operation. Stratified fuel is no longer suitable for use even after vigorous shaking.

Unsuitable operating materials or an incorrect fuel mixture may result in damage to the drive.
